THE HONDA CIVIC VTi

I know this entry is wayyy overdue... but i was just too busy loving my new baby *grin* and working hard to support it.

Hence, explains the long absence in blogging.

Hey.. but anyway... here are loads and loads of pics of our new Honda Civic ...BRAND NEW!!!

I took the Monday off to pick up our new Honda, to fix new alloys, and get it tinted too.

So then we had to get up like real early in the morning to make it into the showroom at 9am...

The car was parked
IN THE SHOWROOM... as was labelled "SOLD... Owner:Ms. Tan"
*grin grin*

We had to sign all these documents and FNALLY.... I had the honour of driving the car out of the doors of the showroom!!

Ahhh... the feel of a brand new car!!!!!!!!!

We then took the car straight to the tyre shop to get our new alloys fixed.

Managed to take a few shots of the Honda with it's original hub-cap before the tyre guy stripped it off.

Also managed to pose with it before the alloys were fixed... .despite me still quite blur from waking up early..

The exact alloy that was fixed...

This was just a sample in the showroom...

The tyre guy first took off all the tyres...

Removed the rims and hub-cap...

And fixed the alloys into the tyres...

He then mounted the tyre back onto the car....

And.....
.
.
.
.
.
.

Voila!!!

Spot the difference!!!!

The guy said it's gonna take approximately an hour or so to get it all fixed...

And i'm beginning to wonder... "What am i gonna do for the whole hour...just standing here watching him fix the alloys??"

And then... just as if God heard my grumble...

A truck loaded with tyres which was trying to take a turn into the tyre shop hit the fire hydrant on the footpath!!

Seconds later... there was a HUGE, MASSIVE fountain of water spraying out from the hole which the hydrant was before...

And...FREE CAR WASH for some....

The fire brigade rocked up in the next five minutes and cordoned off the hazard area.

The police people also pulled up not long after...

And then United Water came along....

But...

They were all standing around, doing nothing... and watching the fountain!!!!

What a beautiful sight at 10am on a sunny Monday morning!!

Well..the guy managed to fix all the alloys in less than an hour...

But the fountain on the footpath was still going...

So we had to wait till those silly people stop standing around and actually find a way to stop the water...

So much for water conservation rules in Adelaide!!

I was on the phone with mum... and she suggested we take the Honda for a car wash... or rather... "water blessing" as she said...
Ha ha... mum!! Very funny!

We loaded the old rims and hub-caps into the boot... which surprisingly fitted well!

And I made Jay pose with the rims in the boot looking like a tyre guy!! *laughs*

A week later...

We took the Honda for a drive down Brighton beach on a Sunday afternoon as we headed to Somerton for coffee.

We had the car tinted to the darkest legal (Midnight Express)

It did cost a bomb... but it was definitely WORTH IT!!

The Honda Civic VTi by the Promenade...

Me with my new baby!!!

How elegant and luxurious does this look!!! *grin*

Can't stop posing with the car... .!

Jay behind the wheel...

A really nice view taken from inside the moving Honda as we head towards the beach...

In our backyard...

Rear...

The dashboard...

The engine...

A saluted farewell and tribute to my old Mitsubishi Lancer...

Which had served me thru my University days... and the beginning of my working life..

And finally... traded in to Nordic Honda Australia...

THE GREAT CHEF... *part 2*

Since that fateful day when i self-declared myself the Great Chef (mind you...'Great' with a capital G) ... I have ventured out into the dessert menu.

I proudly announce that i SUCCESSFULLY baked TWO cakes from SCRATCH! By that i mean NOT using any boxed cake mixes that can be easily bought in the supermarket aisles. The only problem with this is that i had to work out mathematically how many cups equals how many grammes of flour (cause the damn recipes that i got was all stated in grammes.. and i DON'T have a weighing scale to measure it out!! Grrr...)

But I hit jackpot on my first attempt at a banana cake with lemon and cheese frosting... and needless to say, i was very very pleased with myself.

The banana cake went awesomely well with coffee! And with Jay constantly trying to con me into giving him an extra piece after dinner... and the boys who declared it "whoa... can orgasm with the first bite man!! Gila-ness!" it obviously didn't last through the weekend.

The banana cake with lemon cheese frosting garnished with crushed walnuts.... Yumm!!

Which goes absolutely well with a cup of hot coffee!

And so... two weeks later, i decided to try a new recipe...

And i call it "The lemon and Strawberry cake with lemon icing sprinkled with chocolate flakes"

How cute does the little chocolate heart look in the centre!!!

Deliciously SINFULL!!!!!

And as for the main courses...

Presenting.....

Nasi lemak with rendang chicken, sambal eggs, ikan bilis + peanuts, and cucmber.

Nasi goreng with bacon bits, marinated chicken breasts, and mixed veges topped with fried omelette garnished with fresh corriander

Tandoori chicken sandwich made with succulent chicken leg fillets on toasts, topped with fresh sliced onions, sour cream and fresh corriander.

Maybe it's time for me to quit my job and seriously start thinking about opening a restaurant!

Mwahahaha.....

Hmmmm.......maybe....

OH WHAT A LUXURY LIFE....

Despite the torrential rain and hurricane-like wind outside... I am seated in my very own cosy lounge, and having brie cheese with crackers...and blogging *grin*

- Yummylicious Brie with crackers -

Work went well today. A colleague of mine baked a really yummy banana cake with cream cheese icing for another workmate's birthday. And we all had coffee and cake for morning tea... and then again in the late afternoon.
And THAT'S what you call getting FAT!!!

I hit the gym after work... (nearly got blown away by the stupid wind... not happy!!). Gym was pretty crowded as i did not expect so many people to drag their asses to the gym in this crappy weather. After gym.. i had a good sauna session followed by a relaxing spa bath.

My self-pampering session continued as i got home into our presidential suite *wink*

I made myself a hair-mask of honey, olive oil, and eggs as my hair's really dry and yucky from the winter wind, and chlorine from my swimming sessions. As i waited for my hair (which was wrapped in glad-wrap) to soak in the protein and nutrients from my genius-made hair mask... i treated myself to a lavender oil body exfoliator.

Ahh.... bliss!!!

Life just can't get better.... *laughs*

On another note.... we recently bought a 42" LCD (liquid crystal display) T.V. and it is just AWESOMEE!!!!!

The clarity and sound quality of the LCD is just perfect! Beyond words... seriously...

Now it saves us time and money to go to the cinemas. What for spend money going to the movies when our executive lounge is so perfect right?! *laughs*

And the little TV that we had earlier... has now found a place in our presidential bedroom!

I still can't believe i'm living like a queen... hmm...... *ponders*

Needless to say... OF COURSE i am enjoying every single bit of it!!!

A few pics of the luxury life...

- How awesome is that!! -

- What clarity!! -

- It's nearly as tall as me! Okay fine.. I'm short... So what!!? -

- Free Telstra advertisement... *grin* -
They should pay me for doing this!

- Some hot hunk that was in some telly series  -

- The Presidential Suite -

- Looks and feels so much like a hotel room!! -

Well... besides the awesome awesome LCD (that some of you may be getting envious of me now.. haha... *kidding*) we also recently bought a glass showcase from IKEA. It's really nice and affordable too! It comes in 3 different colours but we bought a dark brownish-black one to go with our entertainment unit. A spotlight can be placed at the top of the showcase (optional) to enhance the look of it, or to give focus onto the showpieces.

That's because we had all these really elegant showpieces that we bought when we traveled... but never had a proper place to display them. So now... they've found a new home!!

Here's a few pictures of the showcase and the showpieces.

- The Showcase -

- First Tier -
Really expensive hand-made shot glasses, Pyramids of Egypt, Singapore crystal lion & shot-glasses

- Second Tier -
Hong Kong pewter plates, KLCC pewter tower, Silver bell and ash-tray from Australia

- Third Tier -
The Mexican and Hong Kong ladies

- Fourth Tier -
Some abstract art thing that Jayesh bought. We don't even know what it is! *laughs*
It's just a round glass thing sitting in a block of wood.
Maybe it resembles the circle of life??

Oh.. and finally...

We are counting down the days till we step into our brand new Honda Civic!

Ahhh...can't wait!!!!!!!
Seriously.... What a Luxury Life!!

THE GREAT CHEF... *grin*

I never knew i could cook.. i mean like REALLY cook!

Recently i've been having this weird obsession of surfing for recipes on the internet, and then try to cook 'em. Don't know why thou (someone did tell me it's the maternal instinct kicking in.. but i hope not!!).

Anyway... as Susheel was leaving the country for good to (hopefully) work for Malaysia Airlines or something back home (he's a licensed pilot now!) Jay and I decided to throw him a farewell dinner and drink up at our place. And so... i had to cook nasi lemak for like 9 big boys and 2 girls. The food was enough to feed an army!

It all turned up well and i was asked to open a restaurant in the near future. Ha ha... but no thanks.

That was cooking Part 1.

Just the other night... i cooked Jay a really awesome candlelight dinner of paprika pork chops with herbed rice and a glass of wine each. It was bliss! (Haha.. i'm so full of myself *grin*)

Paprika pork chops with herb rice

The candlelight dinner

And i've also made some really yummy butter pancakes, topped with glazed apples and almonds drizzled with chocolate sauce!

The Pancakes!

Maybe i should really consider opening my own restaurant.. hmm?? *laughs*

Anyway... more updates.

Susheel has left for Malaysia, and he had like this huge farewell thingy goin on the weekend before he left at The Havelock Hotel on Hutt St. We then adjourned to The Stag and later on to The Square. It was good to be out after a long long while! A really enjoyable and good night i must say.

Some pics of a hot hunk before hitting the party... *winks*

The Hot Hunk... (check out the biceps!!)

Katrina and I at The Stag

Oh.. i've got my IELTS results back. Well... despite me not at all prepared for it, i can't complain on what i got. The night before the test, i rocked up to a friend's place to borrow his IELTS booklet so i could have a look at the sample questions.
Jay and I met Kat and Amrit for desserts and coffee in Hyde Park right after we left with the IELTS book... and we only got home at 3am. So.... the idea of looking at sample questions went right down the drain.

Our Lemon Cheesecake....

Kat and Amrit's caramel pudding...

Slept for 4 hours and got up for the stupid test. Thank God Banz, Balraj and Prem were taking the test on the same day, so at least i have some people to talk to at the test centre before the test. Otherwise i would've died of boredom.
Due to my lack of sleep... my brain wandered off halfway thru the listening part of the test... and when i came back to earth... i realized i missed like a whole paragraph of the passage. Grrr...

Despite all that.... i still managed an overall band of 8.5! Not bad aiy! (Did expect a 9.0... but 8.5 is still okay i guess)

A very blurry 8.5

Hmmm.. now... what more updates...

I've got two new credit cards of my own now! Yay!
So that shows i've got a good credit rating!! *grin*
Okay fine.. one's a debit Mastercard... but what the hell... it's still A MASTERCARD!!

My Credit Cards

And... before i end this entry...
I found a really vain pic of myself... mwahahaha....  which looks good by the way. =P

THE BUSY WORKING CLASS WOMAN…

That pretty much explains my lack of time to blog. Now that I more or less have a permanent shift at work, I hardly have time for anything except on weekends. It’s amazing how I always look forward to the weekends, and hearing myself exclaim TGIF!! (Thank God For Fridays!!).

Well, Hey.. .at least the money coming in is GOOD! *grin grin*

Anyway… work’s been great and I am ABSOLUTELY loving it. My colleagues are such nice people and so easy to work with. Not to forget the staff discounts that I get for things I buy from the chemist, and one free Maybelline product every month!! It definitely is a huge learning experience and training ground for me to set foot into the pharmaceutical industry. (Also putting my pharmacology knowledge from 3rd yr uni into practice… at last!)

Besides work... i've also started gym at the Adelaide Aquatic Centre. The place is pretty good i must admit. Being a member, not only do i get to utilise the gym, but also the pools, sauna, steam room, spas and lockers for hire are only a mere 20 cents. Now i am on a mission towards my 'bikini body' for next summer... *laughs*

So... what have i been up to?

I have converted....

                            THIS......                                                                 .......TO THIS

REASON BEING:

I was issued a A$300 fine for driving on (apparently) an "inappropriate driving license"
I wrote a dispute letter to the Police department demanding them to either reduce or waive the fine.
And so... i received a letter from them saying i DO NOT have to pay the fine until further notice.
It has been 3 months since... and i believe they have waived it off . *smiles*

THE ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY
Jayesh and I celebrated our one year anni on the 17th March 2007. We finally hit the so called "one-year curse" mark. A time frame some people believe that the risk of breaking up within the first year is higher than years that follow.

It was just a simple celebration. I baked a chocolate mud cake and self-decorated it. We had a couple of glasses of wine each (which we got from Barossa and was always saving it for a special occassion) and cuddled up on the couch watching tv.

Jay got me a really funky pair of Oakleys sunnies as an anni gift ... and it was a cool PINK in colour!!!

My PINK OAKLEYS..!!

THE NOTHING BETTER TO DO PEOPLE
It started off one night when Kat, Amrit, Jay and I decided to order in some pizzas and play some hands of Ginrami  at  their place.

And so everything was going according to plan... except that the card games soon lead on to a couple of rounds of Monopoly, a few rounds of pool, and MORE GINRAMI!
The next thing we realize... it was 4am in the morning. We decided no point going to bed cuz we just won't get up for till the next night.

So, we stayed up and somebody came up with this brilliant plan that we go check out Mount Lofty... maybe can see sunrise (cuz i said Glenelg cannot see... it's in the west) at bloody 6am IN THE MORNING!!

Stupidly... we all took a drive up Mount Lofty in Amrit's rented Kia Rio.
The windscreen was fogging up... but nobody took any notice. And so... we got up to the peak of Mt Lofty. And it was 6.30am!!
Guess what greeted us there? IT WAS BLOODY FREAKING COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like 5 degrees okay!!!

The idiots at Mt Lofty at 6am in the morning...

More idiots at Mt Lofty... trying to be heroes... *rolls eyes*

We stayed for a good 10 minutes and decided we better make a move… or risk freezing. So we headed to Starbucks in Glenelg for coffee and brekkie. And browsed thru the Sunday market stalls they had there.

After that… we hit the Beach House and played a game of Mini Golf… which I lost in the end (eh…my aiming not good okay) *frown*

It’s suppose to be a PAR3 course but there was once I took 12 shots to sink the ball… *blush*

My first attempt at trying to golf...

Can't get the damn ball in.. so pose la.. what to do?

A nice shot by my phone camera of Glenelg at 8am in the morning

Blur people trying to smile for the camera... after no sleep the night before

More blur people trying to smile...

Besides a crazy 17-hour games night… the “nothing better to do people” drove to Victor Harbour… JUST TO HAVE DINNER!

We ended up at Café Primo there and had Oysters and a good dinner before a long drive back to Adelaide. We even got a free pancake from the manager!

EASTER 2007 – THE MELBOURNE ADVENTURE… AGAIN!
We hit Melbourne…yes…AGAIN! This time… the four of us (Kat, Amrit, Jay and I) went in our car and the boys took turns driving. Honestly… the road trip wasn’t all that comfy after all. We ended up with sore bodies after we got back.

It was a good 10 hour slow drive. Stopped at Neil for an awesome Big Brekkie.

The Crew that hit Melby...

This time we stayed in a really nice service apartment, The Quest. It’s just at the corner of the city perimeter in East Melbourne, and only a 10 minute walk to Bridge Road (the shopping precinct).

We spent the first night in Crown after dinner at Nasi Lemak House near Lygon. Caught up with Seanz too.

The crew with Fang and Seanz outside The Crown

On our second day... Kat and I went crazy shopping in Smith St and Bridge Road. The boys had to tag along to carry our shopping. *grin*  At night, we picked up Goon from her place and headed to St Kilda for a cocktail before hitting Port Melbourne for some awesome pizzas!!

Jay and I with Goon at Port Melbourne with our yummy pizzaz

Amrit and Katrina with their pizza

More shopping on the final day… and more Max Brenner too! Had lunch at Goldan Fork and spent an hour and a half trying to find our way out of Melbourne *laughs*

The crew having Max Brenner for brekkie..

(We asked a cabbie for directions to Princess Highway and he nicely gave directions to Princess Highway leading to Sydney!! So we had to turn back… but got lost and was heading towards Tullarmarine airport! Third try… and we finally got it right!)

The crew with Fang and Sham after lunch at Goldan Fork a.k.a. Bismi

MY FIRST ATTEMPT AT MAKING NASI LEMAK…
And it was a HUGE SUCCESS!! It was so good… that Jay started bragging to our friends about how awesome it was! He even said he’ll open a Nasi Lemak House in
Adelaide for me!! *chuckles*

 Bon Appetite!!

THE RANDOMZ…

A really cool shot of Jay and Amrit inside a lift moving Katrina's palm trees... *laughs*

This is my boss's dented bumper.
No... It WAS NOT MY FAULT!
I was on my way to a patient's house to deliver his prescriptions when i was hit from the back by a lady in another car while STOPPING AT AN INTERSECTION!
Woman driver... sheesh.

A nice sunset shot i got with my phone cam while at work... *grin*
I saw how nice and pinkish the sky was and decided i really need to take a photo of it.
So i stood by the door and *click*

As I was browsing thru the pictures in my Mac… I came across these pics which I was suppose to post on me blog but never did…

THE FOCUS ELECTIONS 2006 AT UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA

NEXT ON THE AGENDA…
I am currently saving money for….
